An Introduction to QED

QED Foundation has been creating opportunities for all since 1990. We believe that people of every race and faith should be able to fulfil their potential. Our aim is to help to build a peaceful and cohesive society where everyone can contribute and be rewarded for his or her efforts.

We do this by supporting ethnic minorities to find jobs and progress in their careers. QED Foundation delivers education, training and employment services to disadvantaged communities at neighbourhood level. We enable them to achieve better health outcomes and play a more active role in wider society. 

But we also support government and public sector organisations, businesses and charities across the UK to tackle inequality. We use our first-hand experience of working at grass-roots level to advise key decision makers. And we promote a positive image of Britain's BME communities and celebrate their successes.

Working together we can put ethnic minority issues at the heart of public policy and open up opportunities for everyone.

Our Mission

Our mission is to support the eradication of poverty, disadvantage and ignorance – the main causes of conflict and discrimination; campaign to influence policies and practices of public, private and voluntary organisations and deliver high quality education, skills and employment programmes for disadvantaged and ethnic minority communities. 

Our Core Values

Our Strategic Objectives 2022 – 2023

Strategic Objective 1

To secure sufficient funding and maximise contracts which provide responsive services for vulnerable ethnic minority communities and enable QED to continue trading;

Strategic Objective 2

To complete the investment in the QED technology infrastructure and expertise of QED staff to enable the delivery of high quality face-to-face and remote provision for learners across all programmes;

Strategic Objective 3

To maintain provision during Covid restrictions so vulnerable ethnic minority learners (current and new) can engage in education and be supported practically and emotionally to meet their needs;

To work with local partners to engage widely with vulnerable ethnic minority groups and provide information, advice and guidance to signpost people for specialist support to a wide range of organisations;

 Strategic Objective 5

To support the national endeavour of rolling out Covid-19 vaccines to ethnic minority groups in Bradford District;

Strategic Objective 6

To embed health and well-being strategies across all provision to provide support for learners and staff as part of the core QED service offer.
