The so-called “glass ceiling” doesn’t just start with a lack of access to higher-paid jobs; for many women it is about finding employment in areas where men have traditionally ruled the roost or where the area of work has been seen as something only men can do.

For young women of South Asian origin this can be a triple challenge, with social background and religious strictures adding to the barriers.

We want to find the women who are breaking through on all fronts, the engineers, the mechanics, the journalists, the architects, the sports coaches (and so on and so on) who are proving it’s not just a man’s world.
