Attock Professionals Network
It is estimated that there are almost 100,000 people originating from Attock district in the UK. Attock Professionals Network (APN) was founded in January 2008 as a non-political and non-sectarian informal network of ‘professionals’ who have links with district Attock of Pakistan. The aim of the network is to provide mutual support to the educational, social and economic development of its members in UK and Europe.
We invite men and women of all ages and professional backgrounds to become members of the network. Recruitment is mainly through word of mouth and referral from existing members. The APN strives to be an inclusive group with good geographical coverage and professional representation.
APN has no formal structure or constitution. The commitment, participation and willingness of members to support other members will determine its success.
Individuals who are encouraged to join the network are teachers, social workers, civil servants, managers, lawyers, accountants, pharmacists, entrepreneurs, journalists, doctors, engineers, and politicians from all parties, amongst others.
The first inaugural dinner was held successfully on 2 February 2008, where there was overwhelming support for APN. All APN members will be invited to meet once a year for annual dinner and networking. However, members are recommended to keep in touch with each other throughout the year to provide mutual support, encouragement, motivation, mentoring, and local networking.
The second annual dinner and networking event will be held in summer 2009 in Birmingham. We intend to produce the first directory of APN members to be updated biannually. The directory would have a pen picture (optional) of each member with a brief biography and contact details.
