House of Lords Date for QED-UK

Bradford charity QED-UK hosted its third reception at the House of Lords.

The Deputy Chair of the Equality and Human Rights Commission, Baroness Margaret Prosser hosted the reception attended by 100 senior people from businesses, Government departments, community and religious organisations, along with politicians and policy makers.

The speakers included the Minister for Women and Equality, Barbara Follett MP and the Head of Corporate Social Responsibility for Bradford & Bingley plc, Mike Hammond.

Baroness Prosser recalled her visit to QED-UK and praised it for "their philosophy to use employment to achieve equality and cohesion within the community" and as deputy chair of EHRC, sees QED-UK making a major contribution in this area.

Mrs Follett also spoke of her visit to QED-UK and "praised their passionate view for addressing the issues and problems facing the most disadvantaged groups and ethnic minorities’ particularly focussing on people of Pakistan and Bangladeshi origin."
