Press Release - 3 October 2006
National HR platform for Bradford Chief Executive
The chief executive of a Bradford charity has been invited to address the UK's top HR professionals at this year’s Human Resource Summit in Budapest.
Dr Mohammed Ali OBE, who heads up the community economic development agency QED-UK, will advise delegates on diversification strategies in the workplace at this week’s event.
Dr Ali will be sharing the platform with some formidable speakers including ex-Labour spokesperson Alastair Campbell. The annual Human Resource Summit is the longest-running event in the UK’s HR calendar and is held in a different European city each year.
More than 100 invited guests from major blue-chip organisations across the UK will gather to hear Dr Ali's advice on developing a strategic approach to diversification in the workplace. He will cover how important it is to develop a culture of positive change within large organisations, how communication plays a key part in creating an integrated campaign and how a holistic approach to diversity will lead to success.
Dr Ali said: "I am delighted to be speaking to some of the UK’s top HR professionals in Budapest. If more companies adopt a strategic approach to diversification we can improve the employment potential for ethnic minority groups across the UK."
Through his work with QED-UK, Dr Ali has advised numerous companies on equality and diversity issues. QED's latest project, Narrowing the Gap, aims to help 2,000 Pakistani and Bangladeshi men and women throughout the Yorkshire and Humber region to become economically active over the next three years, with 500 of them securing jobs.
However, Dr Ali's speaking platform in Budapest is just another example of how QED-UK's influence extends beyond Yorkshire and the Humber. The charity actively campaigns nationally whilst demonstrating the success of its initiatives at grass-roots level, all the while striving for equality for all ethnic groups in education and training.
